Pancakes at the Diner!

You know those mornings when you wake up and all you want is pancakes? Come on, don’t tell me I’m the only one who has that feeling! Well, the other morning I had that feeling, and luckily I found a friend who was willing to snag a late breakfast with me, so we headed up to The Diner in Adams Morgan.

The Diner on a grey day!

I have been meaning to go for ages, it’s the cutest old school diner right on 18th Street, and I am a total sucker for diner food, so I have no idea why it’s taken me this long to check it out!

You can tell it’s good because it’s always packed, usually with a waiting list, so if you’re also having a pancake craving, I would suggest getting there on the earlier side! But it is well worth the wait.

If you’re stopping in for pancakes, you should definitely grab a drink to wash it all down. Now you can go with a classic like mimosas, coffee or tea, but my friend and I both went for a diner specialty: the Bubbles & Brambles.

not every diner has bevvieslike this!

They’re as delicious and refreshing as they look with raspberry, elderflower and lemon flavors mixed in with the bubbles.

Bubbles in hand we ordered our food. If you have a craving for pancakes, you can order them a la carte, but honestly, the Royale is by far the best way to go. It’s not that much more and you get enough eggs, pancakes/french toast, bacon/ham/sausage and home fries to last you two meals!

Since we both went for the Royale, I can’t review any of the other food, but everything we had was delicious! Good solid diner food served up in a good old school diner, aka everything I needed to fix my pancake craving 🙂 So, if you’re craving pancakes (their fries looked fantastic too), check it out. Plus, since the diner’s open 24/7, you can visit whenever the craving strikes you!

Have you ever been to The Diner? Where’s your favorite place to get some diner food in the District?
